In determining that response, many questions need to be answered. In an essay, explain the relevant questions you would pose as a realist, constructivist and feminist in attempting to determine the risk of violence escalating into ethnic conflict and perhaps even genocide, as well as the questions necessary to determine if humanitarian intervention is warranted or possible.
Part II: Answer the following question in a 2-3 page essay (10 points)
Tunisia and Egypt are beginning the process of creating new democratic political processes. In an essay, discuss the key principles of human rights as set out by international agreement that you would expect to see within any new democratic political system. Outline any particular problems that these international treaties may pose in the context of democratization in the Mideast. Explain the various alternative international models for dealing with past human rights abuses in these states. What key questions would you use as a feminist and a liberal in assessing the extent of democratization a year from now?
