1- Aristotle and Happiness. What is Aristotle’s conception of happiness? What are its components? How does it differ from our conventional views of happiness, both of the common man’s view of what happiness is and the Christian doctrine.

2- Aristotle and the Golden Mean. Explain Aristotle’s theory of the golden mean for moral virtue. Try to give 3 examples of virtues Aristotle lists. (Give the “Extreme,” “Mean,” and “ Deficiency” of each virtue. If you cannot list 3 try to think of some on your own that might apply. Lastly, what do you think of this approach to defining virtues (i.e. actions that help you achieve the good)

3- Aristotle and Friendship. What do you think of Aristotle’s view of friendship? Pull from what Leonard Peikoff says of it. Do you find that you have the three types of friendship that Aristotle describes? Do you agree with him about the highest form of friendship? Is friendship egoistic, i.e. based on self-love?
