Library Research & Writing Assignment 2
This assignment involves researching and writing about an interesting article on some aspect of design during the pertinent time period.
Step 1: Go to the library. Find an article from any architectural journal published between 1930 and 1960. Examples include Architectural Forum, Architectural Record, Architectural Review, Pencil Points, American Architect, AIA Journal, The Brickbuilder, and Architecture.
Step 2: Write a three-page paper addressing the following questions:
- What is the main point of the article?
- How does the article relate to the issues covered in class?
**Papers will be due on November 1 at 12:00 pm.**
All papers must be submitted to emaill
Papers will be graded for clarity of composition and grammar as well as content. All assignments must include the following:
- 12-point font
- 1” margins
- page numbers
**No online articles – you must use the journals in the library**
All quotes must be cited in footnotes or endnotes. Failure to do your own work or to cite the work of others properly will constitute plagiarism and will be grounds for violating the LTU Honor Code.
Late assignments will be dropped one grade-step (e.g., C to C-) for each day late. No extensions will be granted without a written medical excuse presented before the due date of the assignment.
It is not acceptable to turn in a paper that is entirely or substantially the same paper from another course.
