P- inpatient adult medical surgical patients with central venous access devices placed and accessed post admission.
I does a decrease in cvad placement and subsequent access significantly reduce the inpatients risk of a hospital acquired blood stream infection?
C – as compared to inpatient adult medical surgical patients with only peripheral venous access systems.
O decreased hospital acquired infections in central venous accessed patients.
T – 3 months then ongoing depending on results of statistics.
