1.Select a phonics lesson from the Phonics Lesson Plans (Technology, 2012) page. Analyze the lesson to determine what learning needs exist for a student with a specific learning disability (SLED) in reading who receives instruction in the general education classroom.
2.Create a list of three to five possible accommodations, modifications, or assertive technologies based on Accommodations for Students with LS (National Center for Learning Disabilities, 2006) that could be integrated into the lesson for a student with a learning disability.
3.Describe how you would universally plan in order for these students to have equitable access to the learning content of the lesson.
4.Provide a rationale for each accommodation or modification and an explanation as to how you will document the effectiveness of the support.
5.Share the link to the lesson plan you reviewed so others have context for the lesson plan you are discussing.
